The St. Joseph Hospital Foundation recently hosted its sixth annual Golf Classic event at Baywood Golf & Country Club. This two-day event is held every June and features a dinner and auction Thursday night, followed by a day-long golf tournament on Friday. This year, the event raised over $130,000, making it the most successful golf fundraiser to date.
More than 500 community residents attended the event, which will benefit St. Joseph Hospital’s Northeast Tower expansion project. When completed, the Northeast Towe r at St. Joseph Hospital will be a state-of-the-art, three-story building totaling 100,000 square feet. The new facility will feature an expanded Emergency Department, a surgical suite with eight operating rooms and a catheterization lab, 40 patient care beds, the Intensive Care Unit, and new reception and waiting areas for patients and visitors.
The winning team for the golf tournament was the foursome including Tom Thomas, Joe Rogers, Dennis Reinholtsen and Alex Strachan, followed closely by second place team Redwood Capital Bank, which included Duane Peterson, Gary Gans, Larry Debeni and Jim Seiler.
Rob McLaughlin and Gary Gans tied with a score of 10 in the putting contest, while Matt Munther and Tracey Duke won the long drive competitions. Dennis MacGregor won the prize for being closest to the hole on #12.
